The trap

Those two hours weren't only typing. That was the stretch where the account lead noticed the client had quietly changed direction, or that last week's number no longer held, or that the draft read calmer than the situation deserved.

Speed didn't just remove the effort. It removed the moment the problem used to get caught. The output got faster and a check disappeared, and nobody voted on that.

The shift

Read a speed win as a change in control, not a change in time. Before you celebrate the faster output, ask what the slow step was quietly protecting.

If AI removed the pause, replace the pause.

Why this helps: you leave the meeting with a replacement check to put in place, not just a smaller number to brag about.

What stays human

AI can draft the update. A person still decides whether the tone, the risk, and the recommendation match what's actually happening with that client. Don't hand that call to the tool because the draft looked finished.
